CCAP Nkhoma Synod Environmental Care

In 1999, a Department of Environmental Care was established to create a stronger awareness among church members of a Christian’s calling to preserve the environment. It is particularly focused on counseling schools and congregations. Hennie Smit distributes trees during the rainy season with his tree-planting project, and more and more congregations realize its value.

His promotion of the Farming God’s Way method to subsistence farmers, . The yields of maize crops are significantly higher than the old ‘ridging’ method. It also contributes to greater food security as a result.
