On Saturday 18 February eight Christian Women’s Ministry (CWM) leaders from the presbyteries of URCSA Kraaifontein, Stellenbosch and Wynberg attended an Introduction to Contextual Bible Study (CBS) workshop, facilitated by Prop. Jayson Gribble and Prop. Ashwin Thyssen. The workshop was hosted by URCSA Kraaifontein.
“The workshop taught me how to keep up our ministry in the CWM, congregation and community,” says Marion Bouah. “I learned how to move away from traditions so that we can grant young women the space to minister in the service of Christ. We learned how to make changes in order to involve all the women in our congregations. Hebrews 10 verse 39 says ‘But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved’.”
Sr. Virginia Jumat says, “It was an informative process. The few of us who were together discovered that we are from different congregations but have the same problems. The way in which the Bible study was presented was very educational and I believe that if we can apply it in the congregations it will become a fruitful congregation for those who really participate and are interested in the congregation. This can become a very practical way in which the members will be able to understand the Bible. Many thanks to Ashwin and Jayson for the way they presented the session for us.”
