Vision
The Body of Christ in action.
We believe we are called to:
- be a visible Christian presence in downtown Cape Town;
- be of service and to help alleviate distress;
- speak for those who cannot stand up for themselves (Proverbs 31:8-9 ).
Ministering Aspects:
- Communication – At various levels through social media, performances and our newsletter .
- Evangelism – on Friday nights we reach out on the streets of Cape Town together with visitor groups.
- Prostitution : prevention and recovery – we reach out to women trapped in prostitution, and we take the “Valuable to Jesus Campaign” to schools on the Cape Flats and the rest of the country. The campaign ‘s message is : Stop sexual abuse, prostitution and pornography.
- Outreach ministry to homeless and desperate people – OPHELP Projects are the vehicle by which desperate people can be helped by means of a work rehabilitation programme. Participants can earn cash through hard work as an alternative to aggressive begging, theft and other crimes .
