“The workshop was so fruitful to me and it also changed my attitude positively for being elected as a CWM committee member. Now I am confident. As from today I will implement what I have gained from this workshop and try harder to develop my ministry,” says Asiphumeze Yolanda Katywa, one of the 13 CWM members of URCSA Fish River Presbytery who attended the Introduction to the CBS workshop on 18 March.
This workshop was facilitated by Rev. Babalwa Sifuba and hosted by URCSA Adelaide. She says, “The members chose as theme to focus on the lack of motivation in the CWM and chose a scripture from the book of Luke 5:1-11 as guidance. The group discussed what they saw as motivation from the scripture and how they think the scripture will guide them in improving things within the ministry in their presbytery.
“It was such an interesting group as it also had young single ladies who were not afraid to share their experience that had been the reason for lacking motivation at some point in this ministry.
This is what Nosipho Nkonki, one of the attendees, had to say about her experience of the day, “Today I have learnt how to read the Bible differently, not just to read it but how I can apply it to my community. I have learnt how the Bible text can assist me with my challenges and how to develop strategies that can assist the challenges that we are faced with. It is not only necessary to read the Bible but it is also of great importance to have plans of action to remedy the situation.”
