Mrs Christine Chanza, manager of CAVA, (Christian Audio-visual Action) a non-profit ministry based in Harare, Zimbabwe, sends us the following news:
We have started on a good note this year, with more New Learning Centres outside Harare. (Birchenough Bridge, Mberengwa, Hwedza Marondera RCZ and Gweru).
We are also thanking the Lord for what could be a major breakthrough into the Zion churches in Zimbabwe. After a long negotiation with some of the Zion Apostolic churches who did the NBI programmes before, both parties have managed to revive the zeal to train the Zion Church members through the Zion founded Bible Institute. This affiliate Centre has the capacity to train hundreds and hundreds of Zionists in Zimbabwe and plan to establish more centres in each of the ten provinces.
This programme is being coordinated by Bishop Dr Ziwerere who is the President of the Bishop’s Conference. Pastor J. Ziwerere Junior is the Principal of the Learning Institute. We pray that the hundreds, if not thousands of the Zionists and leaders will train through NBI and embrace the NBI programme for their church.
With the NBI students doing their practical work as demanded by the course, we conducted the following public events:
1) Tree Planting
2) Anti-Drug Campaign
3) Clean-Up Campaign
as a way of promoting less crime rate, lives and behaviours change as well as discipline in the communities.
In-order to boost CAVA NBI marketing strategies, we are exploring ways of engaging Zimbabwe Association of Community Radio Stations (ZACRAS) and Community Radio Harare (CORAH) so that we can penetrate different communities with NBI programmes and can partner with them in producing programmes through radio broadcasting (live presentations, Bible devotions, etc.). Media platforms to be utilized among them are, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, Radio and Bulk SMSs among others. These will further enhance opportunities to reach out to people in different areas within their cultural context in all ten provinces of Zimbabwe.
CORAH TV is one of ZACRAS’ community radio stations which covers a radius of about 170km which stretches from Harare to Rusape, Harare to Kadoma, Harare to Chivhu. In this regard, CORAH will enable CAVA NBI to reach out to many audiences at once. The CORAH TV team assured us of their support to help CAVA NBI build content and programme concepts in vernacular on sponsored Radio Airplay.
God has blessed CAVA to have an abundance in Christian resources that are donated by our partners. Churches and church organizations continue to come and collect books from our offices and we are gratified as we believe that we cannot discuss the ‘taste of food with others when we eat alone.’ We have done our best to mobilize and motivate NBI students through distribution of complementary materials and books from CAVA partners. Our partners also help by transporting the resources to neighboring countries. We are so grateful to be used as a “well that the thirsty come to draw from”.
We appreciate your prayers and heart for CAVA NBI Zimbabwe. With your prayers, we are strengthened and empowered to do more for His Kingdom.
