“Had it not been for the grace of the Lord, the task of raising disciple-like leaders would have been daunting,” says Mrs Christine Chanza, director of the Christian Audio-visual Action, known as CAVA, in Harare, Zimbabwe.

“God is enabling us to equip and develop Christian leaders for the church and its ministry. If not for the lack of resources, the Nehemiah Bible Institute (NBI) could have fully covered all ten provinces of Zimbabwe, establishing learning centres for leaders to be well-equipped through the NBI Leadership and Ministry Development Programme. Nonetheless, we thank God for the operational centres established so far, training leaders for the Kingdom’s work.

“In Manicaland Province, NBI operates two centres in Rusape (rural area) and Buhera Birchenough Bridge (rural area), where students are enrolled in the NBI programme. In 2022, we celebrated the graduation of four students in Rusape of the Sacred Heart Bible School. In Masvingo, there are three centres under the leadership of Apostle Michael Msindo, who is also the principal of Buhera, Masvingo Urban, Chivi-Mhandamabwe, and Zvishavane Centres under Miletus Bible Institute. He leads these centres with a team of leaders, including Pastor Mugwadi, Apostle B Mutangi, and others. NBI anticipates graduations in Masvingo by the end of 2024, as students complete the programme.

“We are grateful for the resolute students facing challenges during their studies. NBI encourages them to remain focused on becoming approved workmen unashamed of the Gospel.

“In Gweru, Midlands Province, Pistishope Bible Centre under Professor Apostle P. Kariteni has enrolled students since June 2022, witnessing its first graduation in late 2023 with 14 graduates. Another 13 students have enrolled for the NBI programme in 2024, constituting the third class.

“Chegutu Bible College, an NBI Centre under Pastor Battes, started gradually and is gaining momentum. The initial enrollment of ten students shows progress, but efforts are ongoing to encourage both administrators and students to work hard and make the centre a training harbour in and around Chegutu.

“Mhondoro Ngezi, under Apostle B. Ntengu and Evangelist Daniel Chiwara, has revitalized the Apostolic Revival Ministry Centre. New students have enrolled, and six from the previous group have joined to complete their programme.

“NBI seeks prayers to continue reaching the peripheries of the country, establishing learning centres and equipping those aspiring to serve the Kingdom. Unvisited areas include Bulawayo, Banket, Glendale, and Chitungwiza, where there is a call for the NBI programme’s relaunch.

“Learning centres provide accessibility, but operational costs affect student enrollment. NBI appeals for support to reduce production and transportation costs, enabling more individuals to become equipped for the church’s work.”
